1.  Position Objectives
q  Projects Director is assigned to executively lead all MEP projects and their team and to set up the majors’ targets to handover the projects with the highest quality standards.

q  The main objective is to drive and deliver commercial performance of the business.

 

2.  Key Roles & Responsibilities based on one project or multiple projects
 

Project Management & Planning

 

q  Plan, monitor & control the projects’ scope, schedule, quality.

q  Ensure policies and procedures are being followed by project team at all time

q  Manage of all phases of projects from concept through design, procurement & construction and commercial.

q  Conduct the site meetings in relation to project phases and progress stages

q  Ensure an appropriate supply chain presence on site to improve production.

q  Manage delivery of the all MEP works of all projects and related technical and commercial aspects

q  Ensure necessary method statements, quality and safety documentation are developed and approved before start of works. Necessary liaison with Quality and Safety departments.

q  Ensure Risk Assessment/ Job Hazard analysis done in advance of commencement of activities and to ensure all preventive control measures are in place.

q  Plan all MEP operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.

q  Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.

q  Ensure technical drawing evaluation and estimations of each phase of the project are met.

q  Manage project elements analyzing, completion diagrams and schedules.

q  Follow up on each stage of the project and meet completion deadlines.

q  Prepare project organization structure and workforce planning in line with project objectives and time frame.

q  Ensure a proper mobilization of workface, materials for each stage of the project

q  Ensure availability of technical aspect along with safety and quality.

q  Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed

q  Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.

q  Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues

 

 

Staff Management

 

q  Lead, coach, supervise & motivate the project team to achieve the main objectives, improve performance and maximize productivity.

q  Review the appropriate technical team for each project and agree strategy.

q  Liaise with and visit, on a regular basis, the site teams to ensure all parties are fulfilling their obligations and review the technical program and processes to satisfy himself on the performance of the project and site team with respect to design.

q  Provide the sales team with technical advice and support.

q  Research and introduce new technologies for all employees and management.

q  Conduct annual performance appraisal to review employees’ work performance.

q  Mentoring the project team to ensure every member is operating at their full potential and feels that their strengths are being fully utilized.

q  Liaise with the other departments reporting on individual project performance, staff resource requirements, staff performance issues, training and development requirements.

 

Budget Management

 

q  Assign project workforce budgets and completion period.

q  Gather details and compiles data to estimate/manage all production costs according to specifications.

q  Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.

q  Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.

q

 

Clients/Consultants Management

 

q  Manage client relationships from initial project Start through to delivery of the project

q  Ensure all shop drawings produced and submitted for approval on time.

q  Manage and coordinate with the projects’ stakeholders including contractors/subcontractors, consultant, regularity authorities and utilities provider for NOC’s & permits.

q  Manage the delivery of the project to meet time, cost, quality, safety and sustainability targets, ensuring risk is managed and targets are met.

q  Ensure the proactive management of client relationship during delivery to ensure expectations are achieved, including, changes to deliverables.

q  Conduct kick off meetings with major subcontractors’ prior commencement.

q  Manage external design consultants, drawings and extensions.

q  Delegate the flow of tasks between internal operations and subcontractors/suppliers.

q  Establish, maintain and develop long term business relationship with partners and clients, key business companies, developers & permitting authorities.

 

Reporting

 

q  Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.

q  Prepare WBS loading resources and cost with the planning engineer in addition to look ahead programs and recovery plans using crushing or fast-tracking methods and preventive actions to response NCRs,

q  Prepare/review the project execution plan including, method statements, shop drawings…etc.

q  Prepare a check list for all project elements and ensure their availability, quality and cost effectiveness.

 

 

 

Other responsibilities as delegated by the General Manager.

 

 

 

3.  Experience / Education / Training
 

q  Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management and mechanical engineering or related field of study

q  A minimum of 15 years of directly related experience in MEP Construction Works

q  Advanced cost management, total quality management, business systems analysis, commercial and contracts, procurement and communication in projects

q  UAE Driving License
